Here we go. If anyone has tried to submit a new image to their gallery, you've probably noticed that there's no resizing option.
THIS IS NOT A GLITCH.
That's right. You heard me. DeviantART seems to think that we all want people downloading our images at highest res. `
electricjonny asked dA what was going on and here's the response:
[link]Hi,
We've recently changed our requirements for thumbnail resizing due to the changing market of computers, devices, and monitors. Essentially, more and more people are able to download higher-resolution imagery, and we want to encourage that trend. As such, we've removed the resizing tool for most cases where it previously existed in order to promote larger images and, as a result, more imagery to view and fall in love with.
You're still welcome to resize your images on your end, but in the near future our system will dynamically change the size of images depending upon the viewer's browser size and desktop resolution, meaning with your cooperation we'll be able to serve the right sized images for every individual's unique situation.
So yeah. CRAP.
If I don't mind it being downloaded, I'll put it up large format. But if I do, I want my sizing options. I see what you're trying to do, dA, really. I do. But not everyone is going to be thrilled when they have to go fix their entire gallery.

arrghh dA and it's silliness. I'd move to a different site, but it's too much like work and lacks the networking really.
We have to keep a blog for our design classes so I've been throwing a lot of stuff on there.
Neat
Have you seen Andrew Zuckerman's new book, BirdBook? [link]
